Join Bridging the Gap Center for the Arts for a fun and welcoming Abstract Painting & Color Theory course designed for beginners and creative explorers alike. Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or you’re ready to explore color in a new way, this class will help you relax, create, and discover your artistic voice.

Participants will explore the foundations of color theory, abstract composition, and expressive painting techniques while creating a finished abstract canvas. The class emphasizes experimentation, creativity, and personal expression in a supportive and relaxed environment.

Participants will explore:

  • Complementary and tertiary color palettes
  • Abstract composition and expressive mark-making
  • How color communicates emotion and personal identity
  • Techniques for completing a finished abstract painting

Ke’Siah Parsons is a Florida-based painter and mixed-media artist with over nine years of experience working across acrylic painting, 3D art, and textured surface practices. Her work explores bold color relationships, materiality, and emotional expression through layered and sculptural compositions. Rooted in community and collective experience, her art embraces accessibility, connection, and shared narratives—inviting viewers to engage with color and form as reflections of lived experience.
